Fall in Vail, CO does something most places can't. Tucked into the valley, mountains pressed in close on every side, the trees catch fire in clusters of orange and yellow, like a painter taking a brush to canvas. You can't beat it. Catherine knew this mountain before she knew Robert. Years before there was a wedding to plan, there was a view, season, and location she couldn't stop thinking about.

This wedding had more moving pieces than most: two getting-ready locations, a drive to the base, then a gondola ride up the mountain with Vail Resorts Weddings for a ceremony 22 people climbed up to witness. Fall had turned the whole valley orange and gold by then, like the mountain knew what day it was. After the vows, another gondola back down, then on to Four Seasons Resort Vail for a reception that closed out the night at Tavernetta, still inside the resort. The food was absolutely incredible, the speeches hit all the right notes, and the two families and close friends spent the whole night talking together, unified.
